Correlation and Path Analysis Studies in Elite Lines of Soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merrill]

Background: Knowledge about the relationship between yield and contributing characters can help breeders to effectively select for that efficiently increase yield. The present investigation studies correlation path coefficient analysis in soybean. Methods: 30 genotypes of soybean were obtained from Agriculture Research Station (ARS), Kasbe Digraj, Sangli sown a randomised block design with three replications. Eleven observed viz., days 50% flowering, nodulation count per plant at maturity, height, branches plant, pods 100 seed weight, pod blight incidence, protein oil content. Result: revealed showed highly significant positive (0.8471), followed by weight (0.4087) (0.2836). content (-0.1600) maturity (-0.1566) negative non-significant association plant. Path (0.8612), (0.2476) flowering (0.2333) had high moderate direct effect on Days (-0.0758)
